After a fifteen year absence, Coco returns to his family in rural France.
His behavior is strange, and his past whereabouts remain suspect. His
2 brothers, a policeman and a petty criminal are ambivalent about his
return, while his young nieces have visions of terrible things happening.
His mother remains a stranger. The family bonds start to unravel as
violence and tragedy engulf everyone. ÒTough, cogent and resonantly chilling,
this slow burning drama continues the vein of harsh realism seen in
recent Gallic cinema...Helene Angel's rigourous unflinching direction
and the sharply drawn characters make this an uncommonly mature first
feature. Ó
